The truth is, there was not a huge vision, ROOTERY is the result of a search for solutions to sustainability and social injustice. It became clear early on that coffee capsules without beans offer great potential for sustainability. But that was not enough: a social impact was needed. That's how the world's most sustainable coffee capsules came about. we opted for the most sustainable and regional option at every step of the value chain. to offer you a coffee lifestyle that is compatible with an ecological and social future. And because we want to show that consumption & entrepreneurship have to be be social, we donate one meal per pack together with you and Mary's Meals to a child in need.

WHY BEANFREE COFFEE?
Coffee is a pleasure for us. But coffee is also a global commodity and the stock market determines the price. Before we can drink our espresso, coffee has a long value chain behind it and, as is usually the case with imported goods from the global South, the people at the back end of the chain get the least. Often it's not even enough to live on. In addition, there is deforestation of the rainforests and species extinction, and child labor is also widespread. Unfortunately, the Fairtrade share of total coffee sales is not high. Coffee is as much a part of life as electricity. But is a cup of coffee worth all that? We don't think so. That's why, with ROOTERY, we want to offer coffee capsules that don't travel the world. They are not based on exploitative business practices or the overexploitation of nature. We want to show that uncompromising sustainable consumption without compromises is absolutely possible and necessary.

THE CICHORIA DOES NOT TASTE 100% THE SAME, we admit that. THE AROMA IS FRUITIER AND SLIGHTLY LESS BITTER. But even coffee beans have differences in taste. ROOTERY CAPSULES BEHAVE EXACTLY THE SAME AS OTHER COFFEE CAPSULES AND the finished cup of rootery is almost indistinguishable from bean coffee. You can even use chicory coffee for moss cakes!

CHICORY HAS HEALTHY ADVANTAGES: it is caffeine-free, contains insulin and antioxidants. rootery is therefore suitable for pregnant women, children and diabetics. We believe that consumption should not only be sustainable and social, but also healthy.
